SDCC 10: Geoff Johns panel

At the Geoff Johns panel today I asked two Legion questions. First, will we see the Legion in "Smallville" this next (last) season? The answer: "I'm not allowed to say." Second, when Waid & Kitson rebooted the Legion a few years ago, they were not able to use the original Legion. What changed in DC corporate policy that allowed you to use them a few years later? Answer: "I don't know, you'd have to ask the editors at the time, we didn't have anything to do with that."

Well, Brainiac is back in 'Homecoming' and last we saw him he was being spirited away to the future. The episode prior to that is Supergirl so...

Huh. That sounds like a very safe answer. I'm sure that there's more to the story that he could probably have talked about. When they were introducing the retroboot Legion, Johns was writing the JSA. presumably he had some contact with the editors. Plus... it was Geoff Johns. Even though he wasn't CCO yet, he still had a lot of input in the creative workings of DC.

Sorry to be a Sheldon but it's actually James Marsters, easy to get mixed up with Marsden - but that is exciting news. I hope "I'm not allowed to say", means yes, and that they bring Bouncing Boy.

I know for a fact that at least Brainy will be a Legion rep this season; there may be more. Geoff Johns will be writing a Booster Gold and Blue Beetle episode (so at least there will be a Legion RING) ^_^
