Blogroll update

Time to update the blogroll a bit.

For the Legion-centric blogs, two have gone silent (The Planetary Chance Machine and The Superhero Clubhouse). In their places, I'm adding Shanghalla, Paul and John Review, Francis Manapul's Art Journal 2.0, and of course, Blockade Boy.

Also, Superman Through the Ages is gone, so that's off the list, replaced with the Superman Homepage and ToonZone message boards for discussion of the Legion TV series (which, of course, is just over).

This is not a comprehensive list of blogs I like (which has a lot more), just a list of those that are dedicated to the Legion or have a significant component of Legion content. Let me know if I've missed any!

Um, I don't mean to be overly sensitive, but by, “This is not a list of blogs I like.” do you mean, ” This is not a comprehensive list of blogs I like,” or, “I don’t necessarily like some of these blogs at all . . . ?”

What was in my head was this is not a list of "all the blogs that I like", because that would be much longer, but sometime the filter between what I think and what I type needs to be cleaned. I changed the wording to be clearer, I think.

I didn't want to put every blog I read because then there'd be no room for anything else on the sidebar.

Supes Through The Ages is gone? Oh no... I wonder what happened. C&D letter from DC concerning the scans?

Thanks for adding "Paul and John Review." That's actually my favorite Legion-centric blog (present company excluded, of course); I just wish they would update more frequently!

Terence: the "K-Metal from Krypton" is still there at k-metal.cc, but the rest of the site is gone. The forum has been reconstituted at supermanfan.net.

A post there says that DC didn't force him offline. They asked him to make some modifications to the site which, although they seemed innocuous at first, ultimately offended Rao's sensibilities of what STTA was intended to be. The site was his baby, so only he could decide what was right for it, and I won't second-guess him. But the point is I get the impression he hit the self-destruct button as opposed to being shot down from outside.

Well, that's just a damned shame. Now I wish I had downloaded all the Maggin stories to keep for posterity. Now, if DC wanted to put out a Showcase of just Maggin's stuff, I'd be on that in a picosecond.

Done and done.
