Tle Villain Is tle Lero in Lis Own Story

Well, that's what it says in Interlac on the last page of JLA #10, anyway. I think someone mixed up the H with the L.

Yah, I noticed that as well. What the hell is this bussines about Jeckie having TWO HEARTS!??!

I mean, I haven't read that many stories with her, but I'm pretty sure Orandans of Pre-Zero Hour are physically human.

The thing that gets me is Wildfire having Red Tornado's body. Who's dumb idea was that?

I mean, of course, 'whose'.

It's clearly not the pre-Crisis Legion, just a pretty good facsimile.

Also notice how Timber Wolf was ready to die and said out loud how he was ready to see Ayla again, as if when he died he'd see her because she was already dead.

Plus, y'know, the whole "Karate Kid not being dead" thing, too.

In agreement with you all, but everyone's forgetting to mention what is probably the best line (for me anyway) in all of comics this year:

"I don't care who you've fought, sweetie. You've never faced Brainiac 5."

LOL!

I noticed that. But there's another interpretation, which is that once this little lightning ritual is over, he can go home to the 30th/31st century and see her again.

One other thing that occurred to me - and sorry for hogging these comments - is this whole business of Wildfire in a Red Tornado robot body.

I wonder if it has something to do with the 'Red Inferno' that T.O. Morrow mentioned in one of the early issues of 52.

Is there anywhere someone can find an Interlac translator? I know it's been years since the official DC Interlac alphabet has appeared in a Legion comic, and I've lost my copy long ago in a move somewhere. You'd think someone had made it a font by now.

JD - click on the "interlac" link in the top of the story, it goes to the Wikipedia page and there's a translation there. There's also a link to the font in there.

The person who created the font released it to the public as freeware, so it's very likely that whenever you see Interlac typeface, it's from that font.

The clue is in JLA #10 p. 11. Note Starboy's comment: "Poor Kal-L. His friends are always leaving."

Consider the implications: Kal-L. Not Kal-El. This seems like a misspelling unless and until you consider that Kal-L was the birth name of Superman...from Earth-2, recently deceased. Earth-2 was rather similar to Earth-1 in many ways, so Occam's razor (simplest explanation's usually right) implies Brainiac 5 of Earth-2 (recently recreated in the 52 earths) somehow sent a team back in time AND crossed into Earth-1's
"past".

This also explained why Brainiac 5 was surprised that Wally West was revived. Barry Allen's image was seen by Batman (possibly Green Lantern, too). I posit that Brainiac 5 was trying to save Barry Allen of Earth-2...but somehow the team landed on the wrong Earth. The displacement would certainly explain the disorientation, memory loss, and dystopia landings...the team wasn't where they, or anyone (including Brainiac 5, who sent them) wanted them to be.

Almost forgot to mention...Superman of Earth-2 was left by his friends (and by his whole world), then by Superboy of Earth-Prime. Even Lois Lane-2 died before him. These are all problems that Kal-El--Superman of Earth #1--didn't have.

I can understand your thinking, but I believe you may have your earths mixed up. I think Brainy was trying to save Barry Allen of EARTH-1 (and remember, this is the new, Post-52 Earth-1), but the Lightning Saga takes place on "New Earth" (the Post-IC earth), so maybe this Legion is the Earth-1 Legion who crossed back in time and over to New Earth (of course, Thom got sidetracked to the Kingdom Come Earth, which I believe is now Earth 23, if my memory of the 52 is correct). Good call though, Richard!

Is nobody, anybody, bothered by Projectra having TWO HEARTS??!?!

Anonymous said...

Better 2 hearts than a snake no? LOL

Eh, Trommittes have two eyelids, Orandans have two hearts. No big whoop.

I seem to recall one Legion race has the heart on the right side of the chest, as well.

I'm still hung on how anti-matter inhabits a robot body without fryinhg the circuits.

I have two eyelids as well, two per eye, upper and lower... or did you mean, two sets of eyelids?

"I'm still hung on how anti-matter inhabits a robot body without fryinhg the circuits."

By the same logic that allows a robot body to control weather and be sentient and have a soul? And antimatter to speak? (and it's antienergy)

So, Meltezer can now say that any Legion human, if they're not from Earth, can have two hearts, or two livers?
