Legions of 232 Worlds (and counting)

EARTH (disambiguation): There are numerous timelines, hypertimelines, possible futures, universes, multiverses, metaverses, megaverses, and omniverses, several of which either share a designation or have changed designations depending on which universe is being discussed during which major event. This is a list of the various Earths where a Legion, a Legionnaire, or a related character either exists or has visited, using the most current version of the designator; however, it does not include alternate Earth versions of Superman/Superboy or Supergirl. Several versions of Earth have no formal designation and I have given them an unofficial designation number or letter here (with an asterisk).

This was first established when the Time Trapper revealed that when the Legion of Earth-1 visited Superboy, they were actually going to the Pocket Universe (later known as Earth-23). It was again codified in Legion of 3 Worlds #3 (page 23) by Retroboot Brainiac 5 that “when time traveling, one can shift into the multiverse”, explaining to his Threeboot counterpart who asked about Supergirl that “you interacted with our Earth’s history, like Earth-247’s Legion did on many occasions,” referring to things like the Legion visiting Superboy in Hawaii and the 30th century team getting stranded in the 20th century.

So with a couple of exceptions, there’s no guarantee that any 30th or 31st century is the actual future of any given 20th or 21st century.

Furthermore, the events of Convergence revealed that ALL previously-thought Imaginary stories, dreams, and Elseworlds were in fact merely unique alternate Earths. So EVERY appearance of ANY Legion or Legionnaire is now canon in one timeline or another. And that’s what this listing will attempt to include. Note that this is not “THE” definitive list, only the most complete one to date. I’m sure there are lot of alternate Earths out there that I do not have on my list, if you find any that I don’t have, please send them in (and I’ll cover them in a future episode) and I’ll update my list which will be on my blog, adventure247.blogspot.com.

The decimal number for some Earths is just to distinguish different versions of the same number in the order that they were encountered, and has no other meaning.

3. The main setting for the 5YL version of the Legion (1989-1994). When Time Trapper was killed, the universe reverted into the MORDRUVERSE (EARTH-M5*), a 30th century which was ruled by Mordru. Glorith remembered the former universe, and reintroduced several factors to the timeline that would lead to the creation of the Legion, but Glorith instead used Valor as inspiration source. The old 30th century timeline was restored, but with some changes. Supergirl was replaced by Andromeda, and Superboy and Mon-El were replaced by Valor. In the 20th century, Kon-El became Superboy. 4. The main setting for the 20th-21st century between Zero Hour and an anomaly caused by the Persuader’s Atomic Axe (1994-2004). When the Reboot Legion from EARTH-247 came back in time to visit Superboy (Kon-El), it was to this Earth. However, the newly-reborn Supergirl from this Earth is the one who was flung to EARTH-PRIME.1 – currently known as EARTH-33.2 – where she joined the Threeboot team for a while. 6. The primary universe from Flashpoint to Convergence (2011-2015). This Legion had a slightly different and more complicated origin story, and several Legionnaires were killed at the end of this series. Saturn Woman was born into a telepathic social network on the rebel moon Titan where she can understand all languages. 8. The primary 21st century universe post Doomsday Clock, a merging of PRIME EARTH (EARTH-0.6 and NEW EARTH (EARTH-0.7), which is the current DC Universe. This Earth is where Rose Forrest found herself immortal and lived to the 31st century, and where Jon “Superboy” Kent traveled through time to join the Legion in the 31st century. On this Earth, Superman had a career as Superboy. Because Rose Forrest lived 1000 years and did not time travel, the 31st century that she lives in is the future of the present DCU.	0.8	REBIRTH

12. In the animated Tomorrowverse series of movies, Kryptonian Kara Zor-El arrived on Earth years after her cousin Kal-El. She eventually became the superheroine Supergirl, but was having difficulty adapting to Earth, so Kal sent her to the 31st Century, where she could better adapt and become a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.	1.3	TOMORROW-VERSE
13. Post-Flashpoint Arrowverse in which Flashpoint does not happen. XS appears. EARTH-1A's history was identical to the pre-Flashpoint history of EARTH-1.2, but the timelines of each universe diverged with the Barry Allen of EARTH-1A not creating Flashpoint. Also known as the “Barryverse” after writer Barry Lyga, this timeline appears in the Flash novels written by him and the Supergirl novels written by Jo Whittemore (those took place on Earth-38A).	1A	BARRYVERSE
14. Halk Kar of THORON (the EARTH-2 counterpart of Mon-El) visited EARTH-2 and Superman thought he was his brother (SMAN v1 80). During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, several Legionnaires were helping while on EARTH-2, and at one point the dimensional barriers between Earths faded such that the team on EARTH-2 could see the Legion HQ on EARTH-1. Supergirl noted that there is no Legion in the 30th century of EARTH-2 (COIE 5).However, in the 20th century, Lana Lang became an alternate Insect Queen (Superman Family 213).	2
15. Originally the home of the Charlton Heroes. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Blok was on a team that traveled to EARTH-4 to recruit the heroes of that world (COIE 6). Some members of the LSV helped in the villains attack on the planet (COIE 8, 9). During Convergence, the Reboot Legion met the heroes of Earth-4.	4
16. George M. Coldham composed a song for the Legion, implying that the team from the future was known in the present of 1967 (INF5 2). Coldham is shown visiting the Legion Clubhouse in the 30th century.	12.1
17. Home of the DC Animated Universe (DCAU). The Legion met Superman in the 20th century (STAS: “New Kids in Town”), and after Green Arrow, Green Lantern, and Supergirl traveled to the 30th century and met the Legion, Supergirl decided to stay (JLU: “Far From Home”). In “Justice League Adventures” #38, the team travels to the 30th century to track down Kilg%re. In the “Justice League vs Fatal Five” movie, Star Boy appears as a prominent member while Saturn Girl and Brainiac 5 make minor appearances. 18. Setting of the animated “Young Justice” series. The Legion appeared in Season 4. Additionally, Bart Allen is a member, implying the existence of Don Allen in the 30th century.	16.1
19. In the Arrowverse, an alternate Earth in which John Diggle Jr is known as Connor Hawke (Green Arrow), and Sarah Lance had died. Lois Lane, Mon-El, and EARTH-1.2’s Sarah Lance came looking for Jon Kent.	16.2	ARROWVERSE
20. An Earth frozen by the Time Trapper in the 19th century technologically and culturally. The world pushed forward despite these limitations - still inventing means of air travel, and even a telegraph Internet - and is protected by the frontier champions known as the Justice Riders. 21. A world in which the next generation of heroes and villains fight it out in the world of Kingdom Come. The adult Thom “Starman” Kallor was originally brought to EARTH-22 on his way to NEW EARTH (EARTH-0.7) in order to prepare for the resurrection of Superboy (as seen in KC 1, Lightning Saga). On this Earth, Superman never had a career as Superboy, and Kon-El and Supergirl/Matrix departed the present to go live in the 30th century with the Legion. This is the only world in which Supergirl/Matrix joined the team.	22.1	96 (Hypertime)
22. The Time Trapper took a moment in time of the EARTH-1.1 universe and created a Pocket Universe that had only a Krypton and an Earth. When the Legionnaires traveled through time, or when Superboy traveled to the future, it was across the multiverse from this POCKET EARTH to the Earth of the Legion. The Pocket Universe’s Superboy died fighting the Time Trapper and was buried on Shanghalla in the 30th century. Years later, an artificial life form known as Matrix later appeared to Superman as Supergirl, seeking his help in saving POCKET EARTH from Kryptonian villains (SMANv2 21). In the aftermath of Superboy’s death, the Time Trapper lost interest in this Pocket Universe. After a few years, Luthor tried to contact Superman but instead found the Phantom Zone, where three villains convinced Luthor to release them from the Phantom Zone, where they set about trying to subjugate Earth. The three Phantom Zone villains completely destroyed this Earth except for Smallville, which survived due to a protective force field set up by Luthor (ADV SUP 444), until the Phantom Zone villains breached it and killed everyone left on the planet. Superman executed the villains, leaving the ruins of a lifeless planet behind (SMANv2 22). Ten centuries later, this dead Earth was brought into the 5YL Earth’s universe (EARTH-0.3) to serve as an anchor point for the Earth that had exploded due to the Dominators. It did not work. 23. Home of Dawnstar of the “DC Bombshells”, which was originally created as a series of statuettes inspired by 1940s pinup art and dieselpunk, and later spawned two series: DC Comics Bombshells in 2015 and Bombshells United in 2017 (where Dawnstar debuted). In this universe, Dawnstar is a seer and a spellbinder, a traveler through the cosmos, whose people descended from the Pueblo in the southern United States, and is active during the end of WWII.	24

In the 30th century, the most wanted criminals include the team of former Legionnaires Brainiac 5, Element Lad, Chameleon Boy, Ultra Boy, and Invisible Kid (SBOY 117).[Identified in Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Compendium, which also established that the alternate universe that Superboy traveled to in Superboy #117 and the alternate universe Lois Lane traveled to in Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #43 were the same place, and that same universe also appeared at the end of the previously-thought-to-be-imaginary story in Superman #215.]	43

Prior to Brainiac's total invasion, Booster Gold transported the Legion of Super-Heroes from the future to the present to help him rescue Superboy and Wonder Girl from the vacuum of space. Once the mission was completed, they were returned to their correct time. Brainiac 5 appears prominently while Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, and Cosmic Boy make non-speaking cameo appearances. 35. An alternate future of Earth in the 30th century, after the Great Disaster which wrecked the planet, gave animals the ability to walk and talk but devolved humans. This is the home timeline of Kamandi. The Green Lantern of EARTH-1.1 in the 30th century told Superman of a battle with the Time Trapper, who used the GL rings to wipe out possible futures except the one leading to the EARTH-AD timeline, so that the Legion’s future would not exist. Superman’s costume was stolen and he tracked it to Metropolis, 1000 years in the future (not realizing it was on a different Earth) (SMAN 295). Karate Kid was diverted to this alternate Earth where he met Kamandi and other inhabitants of the time (KK 15, KAM 58). After meeting Karate Kid, Kamandi was pulled into the Wondrous Western Wall in Australia, where the Vortex (a break in the reality curve of time and space) explained that this Earth is an alternate reality in which a Great Disaster occurred, while Karate Kid’s future is an alternate reality in which it did not happen (CCC 2/KAM 60). During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Dawnstar joined Kamandi, Solovar, and EARTH-2 Superman in this timeline fighting Shadow Demons and protecting one of the Monitor’s chronal tuning forks (COIE 2).[Named after SMAN 295]	51.1	295, AD
