The Emerald Empress and Persuader show up, she notes that a GL is a rare sight these days.

Green Arrow tries to take on Persuader with some explosive smoke arrows, but he's captured and she puts a thingy on his forehead.

The Persuader's axe feeds back into GL's ring and he's knocked out. Here comes Chuck bouncing into action - but he gets knocked into a wall and knocked out.

Kara asks what's Brainy's power - super strength, speed? No, he's got a 12th level intellect. She snarks that he can knock them out with his diploma. Brainy manages to knock Persuader's legs out from under him, but he gets slammed into the air and caught by Kara. He says that his force field would have protected him, but she says that maybe she just wanted to cop a feel.

Chuck bounces back into action and knocks Persuader down, but then gets zapped by the Empress.

Kara tries to rescue him by punching the Emerald Eye, but feedback forces her back into the arms of the Persuader.
Image hosting by Photobucket

The Empress gives Chuck a forehead thingy.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Brainy finds that jumping around doesn't work, and she catches him too. She tosses one to Persuader so he can zap Kara before she escapes.

Brainy already has some hardware on his head, which enables him to pull his mind control thingy off. He tries to jump the Empress, but she blasts him and sends the Eye after him.
Image hosting by Photobucket

GL's back in business now, blasting away at the Eye!
Image hosting by Photobucket

Unfortunately, he's injured and the Eye is more than a match for his ring. Persuader gives him a disc, and they all start to walk away. Apparently they forgot about Brainy, who rushes after Kara and pulls her disc off.

Just then, the Persuader zaps him with energy from his axe. He falls onto Kara and Green Arrow, who are left behind now that the Empress has GL (and Chuck too).
Image hosting by Photobucket

The four of them disappear, but Brainy finds one of the discs.

Back in the lab, Brainy finds that the disc uses psionics, which Kara said they also used back on Argo - you just had to think of it and anything that had it would beep. Too bad the Fatal Five are masking the carrier waves.

Kara wants to know why Brainy saved her first, he replies it was based on pure logic. Green Arrow calls him on it, and Brainy tells him that he's the one with the 12th level intellect.

Sending Kara out for drinks, Green Arrow tells Brainy that he's in love with Kara, which of course Brainy denies since as a Coluan, he's ruled by intellect and not emotion. Plus, they just met. But then he realizes that the sweaty forehead, shortness of breath, inability to concentrate - "I thought it was guilt! But I am in love, how did you know?" When Kara comes back, GA leaves to go upgrade his arrows with 31st century tech, leaving Kara and Brainy alone.

Meanwhile, back on the Fatal Five's ship...
Image hosting by Photobucket

Tharok asks how they failed to capture Brainy with the superior weapons and element of surprise.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Empress counters that GL is worth a dozen Brainiacs.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Mano and Validus are at Tharok's side. She tells Tharok that you have to improvise, and now they're better prepared to strike against the UP. After that, the universe!

Back in the LSH HQ, Brainy and Kara are looking at his flight ring. When he gives it to her, she asks if that means they're going steady, but he doesn't understand.
Image hosting by Photobucket

He wasn't able to trace Chuck's flight ring or any of the others. Kara pulls her JL earplug out, says it's a shame their transponders don't work, they could track GL with his. But wait, they could do it if (they both say this together) "a quantum tunneling RF transponder!" Brainy goes to wire something together.

Green Arrow is in the armory adding to his arrows, and Kara calls him up. They've tracked GL to a ship heading towards the UP homeworld, which the Fatal Five have tried to attack before - and as Green Arrow points out, now that they've got GL and the rest of the Legion, they might succeed this time.

They'll take Brainy's personal cruiser there, and then improvise.

When they get there, they've got company - the entire mind-controlled Legion plus GL!

People running in the streets.

GL asks if Supergirl's ready - "dude, I was born ready!"

She makes quick work of Queen Bee and Dr. Cyber.

They turn into robots after they're defeated; turns out it's a training program. GL calls back to Green Arrow and Superman in the HQ, running the sim. Two more robots turn into Atomic Skull and Blockbuster. Supergirl's not so pleased that Skull's got kryptonite blasts. Back at HQ, Green Arrow notes that today is her 21st birthday, but she'd rather stay and practice than go out on the town with Green Arrow and Black Canary. Green Arrow points out that she feels like an outsider - where Superman grew up on Earth, Kara didn't. Superman tried to discourage her from growing up in his shadow, tried to let her be her own person. Green Arrow says that she's proud of being his cousin, she even changed her costume to be more like his.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Now that she's taken care of Atomic Skull and Blockbuster, GL says that she's completed her training, he's got nothing left to teach her.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Green Arrow walks out to congratulate her, but suddenly a shimmering bubble appears around them. Superman sees and rushes out to save them, but they disappear before he can get there.
Image hosting by Photobucket

They reappear in LSH HQ, and Supergirl recognizes Brainiac but thinks he's the villainous one.
Image hosting by Photobucket

She tries to attack him but his force field repels her.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Brainy explains he's "a" Brainiac, an organic one; the bad guy was a distant ancestor who figured out how to pass his code down biologically. He's the black sheep of the family, the one dedicated to doing good - which, as GL points out, he demonstrated by kidnapping them. Brainy explains that they're now 1000 years in their future. Chuck is excited to meet GL, the father of -- GL cuts him off.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Brainy tells them that they're part of the Legion of Super-Heroes (like their Justice League), but a band of villains known as the Fatal Five attacked their HQ and captured all their teammates. Chuck notes that they must have a big plan but they don't know what it is. They needed help, so they sent a Time Bubble to bring back some of Earth's greatest heroes. Supergirl asks why them? Brainy sheepishly tells them it was random, they'd have taken anyone.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Supergirl takes GL and Green Arrow aside and tells them she's not convinced - "just because he's seriously cute doesn't mean we should trust a Brainiac!" but they feel he's OK. Meanwhile, Chuck tells Brainy that the day they pulled her from is the day she disappeared from the historical records! "She's going to die, we have to tell her!"
Image hosting by Photobucket

Brainy says they can't tell her for fear of changing history, and orders him to be quiet about it, but Chuck doesn't like it.
Image hosting by Photobucket

GL, Green Arrow, and Supergirl come over and announce they're in.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Brainy walks them to the lab, even though the equipment is out of date, but suddenly the Emerald Eye appears from nowhere and zaps them!

"Far From Home", pre-credits teaser

This entry covers the pre-credits teaser for the JLU episode "Far From Home". All images copyright Warner Brothers Entertainment. Justice League and all related characters and elements are trademarks of and copyright DC Comics.

Pan over the skyline from "New Kids".

Brainy and Chuck are walking through LSH HQ's Hall of Heroes (there are 8 gold statues, 6 men and 2 women; you can recognize Ferro Lad and maybe Chemical King). Chuck hates running from a fight, but Brainy says they'll never think to look for us here, that gives us a chance to mount a counterattack.

Chuck replies that there's only the two of them left. Brainy pulls a dust cover off a large sphere (we know it's a Time Bubble), Chuck thinks he's out of his mind, but Brainy says there are no other options, all their other teammates have been captured.

To save them, they'll have to break the laws of physics and recruit heroes from the past. But, they note, incomplete records from the 21st century show that 3 heroes from the legendary Justice League travelled through time, but only 2 came back. Dun-dun-DAH!
