Big news at Baltimore?
I forgot to check back at the Baltimore Comic Con's web site since the con is this weekend. Remember, the alleged new writer of the Legion, "Jim", will be unveiled here.
Jim who? According to the guest list, Jim Calafiore, Jimmy Gownley, James Jean, Jim Lee, Jimmy Palmiotti, Jim Shooter, and Jim Starlin will be there. Here's the relevant programming schedule:

1:00-1:50 Spotlight on Jim Shooter
From his first work on Legion of Super-Heroes at age 13 to serving as Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics to founding Valiant, Defiant and Broadway, Jim Shooter has been a force to be reckoned with in comics. After years of little involvement with the industry, he has reentered the field with renewed vigor. His new firm, Illustrated Media, produces custom comics, and he’ll have at least one big project announced this weekend. Come hear what’s going on with this comics legend.
3:00-3:50 Jim Lee Spotlight Panel
Critically acclaimed creator and fan-favorite Jim Lee is front and center in this special glimpse into the life of one of the comic industry’s greatest artists. From working on All Star Batman & Robin, to being the Editorial Director of WildStorm, Jim Lee is here to answer your questions! Moderated by Bob Wayne, VP – Sales, this Q&A session promises to entertain!
So Shooter's got "at least one big project" to announce. Odd that his panel is opposite the DC Universe panel, though.
Jim Lee? Stranger things have happened....

Wow, if those are truly the only "Jim" options we have, that's not too good, IMO. Taking them in order, my reactions are:
Huh?
Who?
Wha?
God, no!
Hmm, could have potential.
Eh.
No.
Anyone else it could be who might not be listed? I admit to drawing a blank on other potential Jims.
If it's Jim Lee, we'll get one issue of LSH a year... yay...
Calafiore: penciller on Countdown and Exiles. Very angular art and square faces. Not a writer.
Gownley: creator of Amelia Rules.
Jean: cover artist for Fables. Not a writer.
Jim Lee has expressed the desire to do Legion work in the past, so he's certainly a possibility, especially if it was for just a 6 or 12-issue arc.
I think Shooter may be a red herring. His big news lately has been with Harbinger, with the hardcover collection (with a new Shooter story) having been pulled a week ago due to trademark issues. Odds are high that his big announcement here is something Valiant-related.
(As well, with the panning that Stan Lee's "Last Fantastic Four Story" got, I'm not sure that time hasn't passed by a whole bunch of these writers who were big in the 60s and 70s. Starlin seems to have rescued himself on that front -- although his art continues to look more dated than Perez's does! -- so it can certainly be done, but others like Wolfman, eh, not so much.)

Not that odd. The DC panel is at 12:00 (but runs to 1:45? That's an awfully long panel. Maybe it's supposed to be 12:45) and his own panel is at 1:00. So... he could hop into DC, make an announcement, and then zip over to his own panel. Either way, I'm curious to see what's up with the Legion.

Newsarama just announced that it's Shooter.
