Legion to return to Smallville

Thanks to Murray for pointing this one out to me, from Entertainment Weekly:

Question: How about some Smallville news? --D-rick

Ausiello: The Legion will return in the May finale -- in some form. Also, I'm told this season's final two episodes will focus on a manhunt for Chloe and Doomsday.

Not sure what "in some form" means, but we'll find out.

I think they should bring in another 3 Legionnaires -- Phantom Girl, Ultra Boy, and Star Boy, maybe? maybe Brainiac 5 -- to help defeat Doomsday, and add Kara into the mix, and take her back to the future with them.

I think they're setting up for season 9 to take place in the 30th century

While that would be nice, the special effects would be too expensive.

Yes, they were especially prohibitive for Star Trek, and Battlestar Galactica, and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, too.

OK, how about the fact that it's "Smallville", not "Clark Kent and the Legion of Super-Heroes".

The series is about Clark growing up and becoming Superman in Metropolis, not learning how to be Superman in the 30th century (which we already saw as an animated show).

Sounds to me that it'd be a nice set-up to have Clark spend the break between seasons in the 31st century. Remember, he's got the ring and all he has to do is "think of 3009" to go there.

...they're saying it's more likely to be the Justice League than the Legion. I'd rather have the Legion, for sure, but it would be nice to see all the JL members together again.

It might be as simple as, "Here's another ring. And don't crush this one."
